Baines in our veins

a poem by John D. Lee

We love our lodge and all our members,

such humble blokes no fake pretenders.

Important history runs through our veins, no prouder masons than those from Baines.

From Tofts, Owen and Wright the dynasty began, before three young lads

took over their plan.

A battle or two and a tough learning curve, was met head on and nothing was swerved.

Joining members, new candidates and plenty of visits, guests and friends with unbreakable spirits.

Social events arranged and families involved, this was essential to how we evolved.

Pride in our ritual and atmosphere secured, with plenty of laughs at the renowned festive board.

To community spirit and support of charity, a link to the public and positive familiarity.

Anything is possible when working as one, our successes are shared and our conflicts are won.

So here’s to the future with a new band of brothers, dedication, devotion and real love for each other.

We’re proud of our lads their daughters and sons, a true family lodge involving fathers and mums.

With highs and lows and even a virus, no tragedy or woes will ever divide us.

We love you dear brethren, your families too, this message is for them and also for you.

Please wear our lodge emblem with dignity and pride, you’re now the future no time to hide.

From three to we our numbers are strong from you to me we can’t do no wrong.

Our bond is our word and our actions are true, for Baines Masons we’re family and dear friends too.

Stay safe and well friends and continue to be careful, now the suspension is over we’ll all be more cheerful.
